November appears to have brought a bunch of blogger events in waves, and I seem to be popping into town on the train at least 3 nights a week. It's great catching up with everyone who I haven't seen in ages, and seeing lots of new products and venues for some christmas presents and foodie inspiration. Above is what I wore to the Urban Bar And Brasserie night. T-shirt and shorts from Topshop, Blazer from Persunmall and hat from Abandon Ship Apparel. My little cloud and lightning badge is from the Hannah Zakari shop in Edinburgh years ago!
Later on that week I had a belated halloween party at a prop store in Glasgow we hire from in the film and tv industry. I went as bride of frankenstein (but did get mistaken for Amy Winehouse when I had my fur coat on) What did you go as for halloween this year?
On friday I got a pretty awesome delivery (you know it's gonna be good when the refrigerated courier van turns up outside) with the new limited edition flavour from Häagen-Dazs - Marc De Champagne Truffle. I am not normally a fan of alcohol based food, just alcohol based drinks as you will see with the pictures that follow this! But this flavour is a lovely tangy vanilla with chunks of truffle chocolate throughout. If anyone would like to come round and help me polish off these 16 pints then be my guest ^_^
So, onto alcohol...
Last night I had the lovely Damien and Emma from Social And Cocktail come to my house with a pop up bar. I chose 5 different cocktails from their online menu to be made for me and my guests (Passionfruit Daquiri, Strawberry Daquiri, Raspberry Mojito, Sex On The Beach and Cosmopolitan)
Their full package is based on £25 per person for 5 cocktails. You'd easily pay a fiver or more for cocktails on a night out so I think this is a pretty amazing deal especially since you are getting a private bar in the comfort of your own home!
We all had a great time and I would definitely do this again as a special start to a night out. The cocktails were brilliant and I think the raspberry mojito was the biggest hit with everyone! Since it was a Saturday night I had X Factor on in the background. Who are you routing for?!
Gala Bingo challenged me to use some X Factor style inspiration for my outfit that evening, in association with their X Factor Slot Game. I took a leaf from Nicoles book as I'd seen her a over a couple of weeks wear a long black slinky number with a slit up the thigh.
I wanted something that would be comfortable enough for doing my hostess duties around the cocktail party, but also suitable for going out to a club afterwards. I ended up going for this one shoulder maxi dress from Missguided along with my black Jeffery Campbell boots with gold buckles. Looking at these photos I am majorly needing my hair done, roots are coming in and the silver shampoo just doesn't seem to be keeping those brassy tones at bay anymore. Hope you had a lovely weekend whatever you got upto.
