Sorry all was a bit quiet on the blog front last week. Telly land has well and truly taken over for the time being, but only two weeks left of this job and then I'll have a nice wee break before I'm onto the next one. I've very much been living for the weekend while having such busy weekdays at work. So last Saturday was a pretty epic one. I finally got to visit Scotland's first Cat Cafe, Maison De Moggy in Edinburgh.

For those of you who haven't been to or heard of a cat cafe before, you don't actually take your cat in there with you (although I'm sure Dexter and Binx would have loved it - so many toys, platforms to climb and places to hide!) Maison De Moggy is home to the cutest little cat gang, which all belong to the owner Laura. I booked an hour slot for me and my friend Clare, which cost £7 per person, then you pay for your drinks on top of that. There was a lovely menu of locally produced teas, coffee and cakes, all which are prepared in a cat free environment. I found that Mog On The Tyne in Newcastle had a bigger menu (including sandwiches etc) but to be honest, you're really there to sit and socialise with these beautiful felines so a slice of cake was more than enough to compliment our visit.

During our visit I manage to snap some pictures of Sebastian the British Short Hair, Elodie the Sphynx kitten, Guillaume the Chinchilla Persian (SO FLUFFY I COULD DIE) Fabian the Norwegian Forest Cat, Pauline the Maine Coon, and Alain the Ragdoll. Oh, and that sassy fella chilling on the desk in the first photo is Jacques, who is also a Norwegian Forest Cat. There are 12 kitties resident in the cafe in total (they sleep and have private space in some fancy living quarters out the back) and I was so impressed with their facilities, and how happy and settled they all seemed. Animal welfare is super important to me, and it was nice to see these kitties all healthy, content and playful in their home. They were not phased at all by these strangers coming to visit. It was essentially like going round to your pals house for a cuppa and a blether, and getting to meet the best house mates ever! If you can't make it through to Edinburgh to visit Scotland's only cat cafe, then you're very welcome over to mine for a cuddle with Dexter and Binx. I'll get some cakes in and pop the kettle on too ♥
