Where you been, boo?

Oh hey you guuuuys. I took a little break from blogging for the last couple of weeks, mainly because I was mad busy and really wanted to focus on getting things wrapped up at work and a few other bits and bobs which have been happening. Thought I'd give you a run down on whats been going on recently, and what my plans are for the next little while now I'm finished up on my latest BBC job 'The Replacement' (which is hands down one of the most exciting scripts I've ever worked on, if you like thrillers then you are gonna love it. Along with Vicky McClure, she is one crazy talented actress)

House Of Fraser Press Dinner

It would be an understatement to say I have been eating pretty well for the past few months, saying HELLS YEAH to any sort of food which crossed my path has been the overall theme! Lots of lovely lunches with work pals, coffee & cake galore, along with a couple of press dinners including one on tuesday night with House Of Fraser for their launch of Maison De Nimes. I love food, but I do think I've been eating emotionally 70% off the time since upping my meds. I've eaten that well, that half a stone seems to have crept onto my limbs and all of my holiday bikinis are feeling rather toight. Je ne regrette rien bitches. I'm healthy and happy, but as of today I'm definitely gonna make an effort to reign myself in a bit ahead of Singapore and Vietnam next week.

Scottish Blogger Shop

Last weekend we held the first ever Scottish Blogger Shop, and it was a huge success! Such a fun and busy day, lovely getting to meet and chat with loads of folk and see all of our unwanted clothes and accessories go to loving new homes. I'm super excited to find out how much we raised for Give A Dog A Bone too! Think we will definitely hold another one before Christmas, so watch this space. Although next time I hope I'm not sandwiched between Wendy and Amanda, let's just say I've not had to do much buying of holiday clothes after coming home with an epic haul from shopping their wardrobes!

Tattooed Eyebrows

Please excuse the state of my skin (all that emotional eating has got a lot to answer for!) but I finally took the plunge and got my eyebrows tattooed by the lovely Louise at Moya Wren. I'm really pleased with how the first half of my appointment turned out, and in 4 weeks time I'll go back for the second half. They are quite liney at the moment as you can see, just to establish the overall shape but when I go back I'll be able to get them blended a lot more and make any necessary tweaks once they've healed. My brows (or lack of) have really bummed me out and knocked my confidence for a long time, and I'm glad I finally worked up the courage to get them done. If you've been thinking about permanent makeup and would like me to write a more in depth post about the whole procedure, or have any questions then feel free to drop me a message.

Glasgow Live

I thought I was off the hook when the Glasgow Live campaign poster was taken down from the side of a building by the motorway... until I had to double take while sitting at the traffic lights and who's face popped up! So surreal, and I need to learn to be proud of these achievements rather than get all embarassed. Maybe I should just think of it as a selfie on a slightly bigger scale? Hey, as long as I make my wee Granny proud then I'm happy.

Krispy Kreme Picnic

Weddings and walkies! While working Monday to Friday, 8am-7pm, I really have been living for the weekend to spend proper time with Pete and Bronson as I sorta feel like we're passing ships in the night during the week. We've been to a few weddings this year (with one more still to go) which has been lovely. It's been brilliant having Bronson to get us out and about on nice long walks and explore the neighbourhood a lot more. Bronson even had his first blogger event when we went to Pollock Park for a Krispy Kreme picnic, to celebrate their new stores opening in Silverburn, Buchanan Galleries and Glasgow Central Station. No donuts for this little grubber, but thankfully Aunty Lynsay brought him along one of his own.

Self Care

I'm quite proud of myself that I was able to juggle a little bit of a social life along with crazy working hours (which is probably gonna be the story of my life, so I need to learn how to embrace it and make it work for me!) Somethings always gotta give though, and unfortunately in this case it was my weekly blog posts (and emails, and texts... but ima get back on that this week!) The biggest part of self care for me is really listening to my body and my mind, and carefully prioritising my tasks and trying not to spread myself too thin. I love this pic above from Gemma Correll, I feel like these are the sort of badges I award myself on a daily basis, and my god it makes so much of a difference. Be kind to yourself. That's the one and only mantra running through my brain when the going gets tough. My family and friends are always extremely understanding too, which I am so bloody grateful for. Me and Pete head off on holiday a week on Sunday, so before then I'm hoping to catch up with friends and make up for my absence over the past couple of months. I've got the Biffy and Fall Out Boy gig this weekend, then next week I've treated myself to nails, toes, eyelashes etc for going on hols. Why the hell not, eh?! I've got some lovely foody, fashion and hair content to get up on here ASAP so will definitely try to schedule some posts for while I'm away for two weeks. You can always keep up to date with me on instagram and twitter (@hellorogue on both) So, tell me your stories! What have you been up to? Can you believe it's almost September already?! I've been so out the loop lately, so now I'm away to make a cuppa, catch up on some blog reading and stalk all y'all on social media. Have a great weekend, talk to you soon ♥
